Symantec AntiVirusT for SMTP Gateways provides integrated, multi-layered mail security for Internet email traffic. It scans attachments for viruses and stops unwanted content like spam using a combination of layered technologies, such as anti-spam heuristics, multiple real-time blacklists (RBL), and support for customised blacklists and white lists. Unwanted content can be blocked based on common message characteristics such as subject line, attachment name, extension, and maximum message size. Administrators can set flexible policies, schedule updates, receive system and security alerts, and generate management reports from a secure web browser.
