officescan corporate edition
This
is the desktop antivirus for the enterprise. Central virus reporting,
automatic software updates, and Web-based remote management allow administrators
to effortlessly monitor, configure, and keep desktop protection up-to-date.
OfficeScan
Corporate Edition is the first desktop antivirus solution for the enterprise
that provides real-time, Web-based, central management. OfficeScan reduces
the total cost of owning desktop virus protection by enabling administrators
to configure, update, scan, and monitor all desktops from a single
management console. In the case of a virus outbreak, administrators can
choose to update all desktops to the latest virus pattern and scanning, and
initiates a company-wide virus scan.
OfficeScan
is installed at the server and centrally deploys client programs via an
ActiveX embedded Web page, Windows NT remote installation, Microsoft System
Manager Server, traditional system login scripts, or hard disk cloning
techniques. Once deployed, OfficeScan client programs report back to and
obtain updates from the server.
OfficeScan
provides automatic updating that can be prescheduled at specific intervals
or accessed manually via a one-click function. Either approach ensures that
the latest pattern updates and program files are delivered directly from
Trend Micro's Web site to your desktops.
OfficeScan
monitors virus activity on client machines in real time and notifies
administrators via email if virus activity is detected. If unusual virus
activity patterns are detected, OfficeScan can send a special alert via
pager or SMTP mail.
Intelligent Virus Scanning
OfficeScan uses the same award-winning virus scanning engine as all other
Trend Micro products. This includes both rule-based and pattern recognition
technology to detect and remove known viruses, including all viruses known
to be "in the wild." OfficeScan also incorporates, patented
technology, MacroTrap, which detects and removes both known and unknown
macro viruses.
OfficeScan
can be installed on multiple servers to support large numbers of users. When
a company has remote sites, OfficeScan can be installed on a local server,
where local users can access OfficeScan client programs. To preserve
centralized management of these OfficeScan servers, Trend Virus Control
System (Trend VCS") is available to link them into one Web console.
